Researchers are granted independent operation of instruments following project submission and after obtaining an instrument "driving-license".
As a first step you should submit a project description using the Project Template. Applications will be approved after confirmation from the researcher’s supervisor (usually the PI). After evaluation by the EM facility members, you will recieve our feedback and continue with the training. Given the training's prerequisite understanding of experimental basics, certain conditions apply:
SEM:
Researchers must have attended an SEM course, have a background in SEM usage, or study an introductory text on imaging modes and instrument functionality.
Individual trainings are available for specific applications.
TEM:
Access requires completion of a TEM course or proven TEM experience.
Introductory TEM trainings are typically individual.
Upon completion of the training, you will receive a microscope-specific license and get access to our booking system.
For projects with minimal microscopy needs, center staff can conduct measurements as a service or collaboratively, depending on the workload and expertise needed.
